Moody Vibes for Fall: Chicago Wedding Inspiration

Updated: Nov 16, 2020

What better way to celebrate Halloween than with a wedding full of moody vibes? This couple made the perfect edgy bride and groom for this fall wedding shoot in Chicago.

Bride and groom under bridge in Chicago

We had a badass team of Chicago wedding vendors to bring this badass concept to life. The bride wore a Lazaro gown and accessories from Aisle Chic. Her bold hair and makeup was done by Blush and Braids Beauty Bar.

The groom wore a paisley patterned black tuxedo from Formally Modern Tuxedo, giving him a formal yet unconventional look.

The setting was The Lakewood, located in the West Loop in Chicago. This blank canvas of a space is perfect for transforming into anything your heart desires. In this case, I had my heart set on a glamorous affair with dark colors and a modern gothic feel.

Edgy Chicago fall wedding ceremony

The gold arch for the ceremony was provided by Posh Studio Rentals, and all of the wild floral in vibrant shades of red and burgundy was from Luci Floral Design.

The couple exchanged wedding bands from Hitched - black for the groom and a stacked white gold and diamond eternity band for the bride.

The invitation suite from Ink Love and Paper set the tone for all of the dark and moody details throughout the shoot.

The sweetheart table was a huge focal point of my design, packed full with edgy details fit for a modern day Gomez and Morticia Addams.

The black textured linen and patterned napkins were courtesy of BBJ Linen. Accented by gold taper candle holders with both white and black candles, they set the mood for the table. Unique floral pieces in varying sizes and shapes created a wild feel.

All dinnerware was from Hall's Rental. This included matte black square plates and gold flatware. The glassware included a black wine glass, smoke grey vintage style goblet, and v-shaped crystal champagne flutes.

Uncommon Confections made the stunning black and gold wedding cake. I must admit, I am a sucker for a black wedding cake!

Fall weddings are so much fun because there is just so much you can do with it from a design perspective. For all of the edgy couples out there looking for a bold wedding day, I hope this shoot serves as inspiration for you!

Thank you to the team of vendors that brought my vision to life! (Fun Fact: We actually did two fall shoots this day, so stay tuned for the other one!)
