Back before intimate weddings were ALL THE RAGE (aka pre-pandemic), Afton Events planned a dreamy elopement styled shoot with a fabulous team of vendors. Was it a premonition? Are we trendsetters? We don't know, but the shoot was in February, and less than a month later, COVID-19 transformed the wedding industry. This shoot has been wedding inspiration ever since.

With boho and vintage vibes, we transformed a privately owned loft space in Chicago. The ceremony and sweetheart table were set up indoors, and golden hour flooded through the windows for the couple's photos. It was simple, sweet, and the couple was genuinely so in love - as you can see in the photos!
The stunning bridal bouquet and floral arrangement were provided by Oak & Bloom (formerly Erin Cox Designs), which were filled with a perfect combination of neutral colors and pops of bold blooms. The bridal bouquet was a true statement piece against the simplicity of the bride's wedding day look. The romantic invitation suite and menu cards were designed by the talented Maison Blanche Paperie.
The unique sweetheart table was made complete with linens and chargers from F&S Linens and vintage china from Chicago Vintage Weddings. The ceremony backdrop was provided by Posh Studio Rentals, and it was the perfect complement to the exposed brick walls.
As wedding planners, we tend to think big. However, I can't emphasize enough how special an elopement or intimate wedding can be. There are no rules when it comes to getting married (other than COVID mandates, that is!) With an intimate wedding, you can use your budget to make an extravagant, swoon-worthy setting since you have less people to pay for. Or, you can embrace simplicity and focus solely on getting married in a setting that reflects you. Do whatever feels best for you!
